It’s been a week since you first started developing your courageous leadership skills by showing yourself that You Are Worthy, and now you’re ready to continue, to be the leader the universe needs you to be. If you missed that initial installment, Courageous Leadership: The First Step, I strongly suggest you complete that before continuing.
The Next Leg of your Courageous Leadership Journey
- You’ve been talking to yourself in the mirror for a week.
- You’ve been saying, “Until recently, I was not a courageous leader.”
- You’ve listened to the Essence of Leadership Power Hour.
And now, you’re ready to move on with two more pieces of advice for courageous leadership.
Learn to Trust, Allow and Don’t Ask How
This may be hard to understand, especially if you’ve equated leadership with driving the bus. You want to decide when and how, but it just doesn’t work that way.
You might think you know what’s best, but how can you compare your resources and your bank of knowledge to that of the universe? You’ve got to choose your vision, focus on it…and then let it go. That’s true courage.
- Trust that the universe (God, The Great Spirit or whatever you wish to call it) has your best interests in mind. After all, its goal is balance and harmony, and so it knows just where you fit. It also operates on Divine Time—which may not align with the timeline you’ve created.
- Allow it to work by letting go of the control you think you must have and open your mind’s filter to allow in all types of possibilities. Set your intention, stay focused on achieving that, and then say out loud, “I’m gonna let it go.” There will be no foot stomping. Instead, you will expect it to happen, in the perfect way and at the perfect time.
- Don’t Ask How events will “lead” you to become a courageous leader. They will manifest themselves as long as you’re focused, maintain your integrity, and work on recognizing and correcting your negative BubbleTalk . Quantum physics claims that there are 40,000 more subconscious thoughts than conscious thoughts. If this is true, imagine how important it is to know what’s swirling around in your subconscious mind.
Find Your Power in the Present, for Courageous Leadership
There are a number of things that can sabotage your leadership efforts, and one of the most detrimental can be a failure to make decisions based on what’s going on right now. It’s like driving a car, really. Your conscious desires are your gas pedal. Your subconscious thoughts can be your resistance (or your brake).
If you’re focused only on the future—worrying, becoming anxious, and continually asking what if—you will be fueled by fear, and unable to shift or move forward.
If you’re wrapped up in past events—allowing yourself to feed on things like grief, blame, shame and remorse—then you’re being fueled by unforgiveness. The parking brake will be applied, and you’re not going anywhere.
Instead, look around you right now. Notice the things that are beautiful, useful, beneficial, delicious…and then say, “From this place, I choose to create.” Commit to only making decisions from your present situation, without influence from the past or the future.
We tend to think we’ve got to learn from the past and look forward to the future in order to make great decisions. That’s true, to a point, but you could be missing something: Your subconscious mind has all that under control. It’s registering its opinion in continual loops. Your conscious mind doesn’t have to worry about any of that; in fact, the only thing it has to center on is right now.
When it comes to courageous leadership, Right Now is the RIGHT Time.
Not sure how to practice being present? Spend time with an animal, or a child, or in nature. Do you think they’re worried about what happened last month or what’s in store for them tonight? Nope. They are creating their own contentment in the present moment. Learn from them, and take time to just be with them.
In Summary…
Being a leader takes courage, there’s no doubt about that. You’ve got to make uncomfortable decisions. You’re going to have to stick your neck out. And there will be times when you don’t feel like Nice Guy or Nice Girl of the Year. But I can tell you, without a doubt and from decades of experience, none of that will matter when you have courage gifted to you from the Universe—courage that manifests from a place of divine purpose.
Now is the time to say it once again.
“Until recently, I was not a courageous leader.”
You’re already more courageous than you were five minutes ago. Open yourself to all the good things that are in store for you, and you will receive the courage you need to move forward without fear. The universe needs you to lead, and when you believe that you’re worthy, when you let go of control, and when you remain present at all times…well, then you simply can’t fail.
There’s a place where courageous leaders come to learn how to create win/win situations and make a difference in the world. That place is the Conscious Leadership Academy, and it’s waiting for you. Visit essenceofbeing.com/cla to learn more and to join.
